ABOUT CLARECASTLE DAY CARE CENTRE

The Clarecastle Day Care Centre is located in the village of Clarecastle, just outside Ennis, Co Clare. The centre offers its elderly clients a program of social engagement and activities in a safe, supportive and friendly environment under the supervision of  a team of fully trained and experienced staff who are on hand to assist with any medical concerns or support clients may require.

While all clients have an opportunity to relax and rejuvenate, socialise and meet new friends, nutritious meals and snacks are provided throughout the day.

Our History

The District Day Care Centre in Clarecastle opened in August 1999 following 6 years of planning, fundraising and consultation by a dedicated and hardworking voluntary committee drawn from the local community. Intended to be a purpose-built building, a lot of thought and care went in to the design of the Centre at that time and history has proven it to be a resounding success.

It was a proud day for the committee to see the first client’s avail of the wonderful facilities in the Centre all those years ago.

AIMS & OBJECTIVES

  • To provide a setting where elderly people, who have limited opportunity to socialise within their community, can enjoy the company of others.
  • To develop a range of services and activities that can be accessed by our elderly community.
  • To provide a morning snack and midday meal to supplement clients dietary needs.
  • To provide a range of recreational activities to support client’s meaningful social engagement, mental and physical well-being.
  • To provide professional services for our clients.
  • To encourage a respectful approach to the care of our elderly people.
  • To support the elderly people in our community in partnership with families, carers, the HSE and other relevant public and private organisations.
